The Children of Men
The first thing that you see when you look at the picture is Clive Owens face booming out at you with eyes directly looking at the picture. He is looking through a sheet of broken glass made intentionally so his face will just fit on the page. The film is set in the future and has a very perceptive title. Again in this film like many other thrillers and violent film the only part of the actor that you can see is his head and there is then darkness surrounding him. The stubble on his face makes him look like a very tough man. The edges of the Brocken glass also show it to be a very violent person.
The contrast of colours throughout the poster could show that the film is shown through different positions and through other people’s eyes. The red title stereo typically shows blood howver in this title one could say that the title is a good thing as there is also soon light blue in the poster.
Reiterating what I commented on earlier, Clive Owen is looking into the camera with a determined expression. He looks full of sadness, yet full of anger and hatred at the same time. There are also some slogans at the very top which state that ‘he will protect us’. This shows that he is the good character in this film as he is protecting hope. He also protects children which shows it to be an emotive film. He helps preserve peace which shows him to be a god in this film as if he governs over everyone.
