Changing actors from 60s to present day

The actors in our thriller will not change however they will now need to be modifired in terms of their appearance and the way that they are presented in terms of decision making and tehir foreign policy. The appearance will be changed to the modern day but that will be easy. The foreign policy will be a less aggressive one and they will certainly not be using nuclear bombs or trying to kill any civilians and would be more accurate with their attacks due to knew technology. The fact that we were basing the presidency on Kennedy and he was very young however so is the current president so we can keep the actors that we are currently using.

Costumes

Costumes

The costumes that we will be using for our thriller willbe very simple and more importantly they will be easy to get. One of our costumes will be for the President. A Presidents appearance is essential and all of the colours need to be taken into consideration. He will be wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a red tie to show that they are in a crisis and that there could be a lot of danger involved, which there is, which is symbolised by the red colour. The attorney general will also be wearing a suit.

The next costume that we will need for my thriller is the is the costume for the security guards. They will be protecting the president so they will be dressed very smartly. They will have ear pieces to contact a medical team and to say that the president is entering the room. They will also be wearing neutral colours and sunglasses.

The next costume is for the chief of staff of the united states army. He will be dressed in Uniform to show that it is a militairy matter and to show that this is of great importance that he had to come down to a bunker to see the president. He will have a generals outfit on and will most likely be sweating. The uniform we will get from the drama department at our school.

New props for thriller

Hand Guns: The guns will be needed my the security guards and the assasin for the shoot out scene and also the assasins gun will need to be different to the ones of the security guards to show he is from over seas.

Head Phones: the head phones will be needed for the president to contact the war office. The president will also need them for the voice recognition part.

Suits: The presidnet will be wearing a modern suit and with a red tie as the president has to have a good appearence and the red symbolises blood.

Army suit (general): The general will be wearing anb army suit to show that he is in the army and to show the audience that it is a military matter.

Telephone: The telephone will be used by the General when teh president gets shot it will also be quite expensive. The telephone pictured is the one that i have at home.

Ear Pieces: the Ear pieces will be used by the security guards to signal that the president is about to arrive and to call for a medical unit. iahve an ear piece at gome.

Laptops: There will be three laptops on the table to type in the code to show that it is very technical as well.

American Flag: There will be an american flag, simply to show that they are in america.

Jug: there will be a water jug to show they are upper class and well kept for.

Security Guard Uniforms: These uniforms will be used to show that they are security guards, the assasin will have the same costume as the other security guard to show that it is a trick.

There is non-diegetic music playing when the president arrives this makes the tense. There will be sound of footsteps as the president and guards are walking into the building. Non-diegetic music will be playing whilst there is a close up of the killer. There will be diegetic noise of speech of the president, attorney general and army general talking with each other. There will be four beeping sounds whilst the president is typing the code. There will then be a gun shot.There will then be the sound of it killing the president. Non-diegetic racy music will be playing whilst the generals are trying to type in the last few digits in the code. There is a second gun shot of the security guard killing the assassin. The scene wil then become fast paced. It will have tense music whilst they are typing in the rest of the code. There will then be two beeps which will be the rest of the code. The music will then be racy and anxious as they will not know whether they have called off the attack. There will then be a high pitched noise from the code machine and they do not know what is happening. The scene will then blackout and then end.

The sound in vantage point is a lot like the sound that we want to use for our thriller. The sound is racy and the opneing credits are also a lot like the ones that we want to use. The sound is sad to show the terror in teh film in Iraq and it is also racy. There are a lot of slow beat drums which show that there is a a bad thing about to happen which is exactly what happens in our thriller.

9.00AM: arrive at set
9.15AM: start putting actors into costume and make sure lighting and cameras are in position fro shooting on set.
9.45AM: start shooting the greeting part and the generals speech with all the shots needed.
10.45AM: break for coffee etc.
11.00AM: continue shooting greeting see and finalise shots.
12.00PM: shoot the assassination scene of the president including all factors such as the close ups of the assassin and the death of the president.
1.00PM: lunch break
2.00PM: continue shooting assassination scene and finalise making sure that all of the shots are complete.
2.30PM: do the scene of the general and the attorney general and the chief of staff of the united states army.
3.00PM: break for coffee etc.
3.15PM: continue doing the rest of the general and the attorney general scene.
3.45PM: move to corridor and set up there.
4.00PM: shoot the assasination scene of the assasin and the enterance of the president part.

Slight changes

Slight Changes

The thriller has now been changed to the modern day as the props were too hard to come by and we needed to find a modern day issue to go by. Moreover the thriller will now be a lot easier as the thriller can now have modern camera usage and the props for typing the code was too expensive and very hard to come by. The attack on Iraq will also be a lot easier to film.

We are having the assassin being shot because it is un-realistic that he would get away so we now have the other security guard killing the assasin.

PRESIDENT: This is Presidnet Rober Sandved, get me the war office.

Where we are going to film it

Where we are going to film

We are going to film our thriller on a set and in the corridor of the changing rooms in our school. The set will be made to look like the inside of a nuclear bunker. This means that no ambient light can be shown in the thriller and moreover that it is set up to look like a modern day nuclear bunker. We will have two security guards in the room and the president and the attorney general in the room.

The other place that we are going to film is in a corridor in our school whcih looks a lot like the corridors of a nuclear bunker. This is where the president will be escorted in the beggining and the also when the assassin gets shot in this corridor by the other security guard.

This shot is showing the president approaching the office. in the thriller we have decided to keep the nuclear bunker idea. the fact that he is in the front shows his dominance even though the audience dont know that he is the president yet.

This shot again shows this person as someone with power and shouldbe shown with full respect.The two security guards also re-emphasize his importance.

This shot shows that president greeting the chief of staff of the united states army. He will be greeted saying good morning Mr President, We don't have much time.





 

This shot shows the president the attorney general and the chief of staff sitting down ready to type in the code to call of the attack on Iraq.

The camera will keep jump cutting to show one of the security guards. This illustrates to the audience that he is involved in the thriller a lot.

Another close up shows he is staring at the president showing he might want to do something.

 This shot shows the security or United arab emerates in the real thing killing the president.

 This shows the president getting shot and there will be a slow motion at this point.

A close up of the president will show that he is dead and they are now in a crisis as they need to type the rest of the code in to call of the attack.

Minor Changes

There have been some slight changes to our thriller after we talked to Luke. He proposed that as this is our first film that we are filming, we should try not to tamper with history as much as we have been. I believe that we are going to continue with our current idea as I am going to pitch another idea to Luke from another point of history which could possibly be an air attack on vietnam or even in Korea. all of these aspects are possible and would also link to the Cold War so it could still be a russian assination that could happen. The setting for it will still be in a nuclear bunker as it will still be a nuclear attack or an attack that could provoke a nuclear attack on the united states.

The actors that we are going to include in our thriller have to include a 1960s impression and especially aspects from the Kennedy administration. For example in the Kennedy administration he incorporated a lot of young advisors and a lot of his generals were younger than him. The attorney general was also younger than him. Kennedy and his administration focused on appearance and therefore a lot of people in his administration were presentable and were also very young.

The actors that we are going to incorporate will mainly be teachers from my school and will be young and moreover Kennedy was the first president to incorporate African American people into his administration and said that this was an important for his appearance and moreover his popularity.

We will have eight actors in our thriller:

• I president
• An attorney general
• A general
• 4 security guards
• A Russian assassin

The president will hopefully be played by Phil (pictured below) this is because he is young and is a lot like Kennedy he also has a good appearance and looks like a 1960s president. Our general will be played by Roy, because he will be presented well as general as he can do a good American accent and he looks like a general. The Russian assassin will be played by either Gleb or Mickey, we have chosen these two actors as they are Russian and the Americans were in a cold war with Russia at the time.  The attorney general will hopefully be played by Adam, we have chosen Adam because the attorney general needs to look like the president as they were brothers. The security guards will be played by Michael and Mickey this is because they look big and they also look like security guards.

The background to the thriller is back and displays quick jump cuts to show that it is a thriller. There are close ups of him typing which displays that it is something to do with writing. There is then a fight followed by someone robbing something which shows that it might be something to do with crime. The thriller then continues to show black outs which shows that it might be a very dark thriller. There are then close ups of a lot of people doing serious things. The serious looks on people’s faces and the man with the magazine shows that it is to do with journalism .  there is then a shot of a dead body which displays that it there is violence in it and a lot of crime and corruption. The press are shown to interview and follow the main characters around illustrating that they have done something wrong or they are in the middle of an investigation. The thriller ends showing a a fast paced scene and lot of people running. The lighting is very dark which displays that it is a dark film with a lot of conspiracy’s. The thriller shows that there might be a hidden or mystical story in the film.

There are many signs to show that this is a thriller. To start off with the trailer is very slow paced. The man shows a very troubled facial expressions and there are quick jump cuts to show a women in a room however you can’t see her face which puts forward a dramatic effect and illustrates that it’s a horror. There are close ups of both of the actors having eye line matches towards a phone displaying that they need to talk to each other.  Later on in the thriller when the girl begins to raise her head there is a bag in the room which starts to move. This reiterates that it is a horror. The trailer then becomes extremely fast paced showing her with a needle and injecting people it then cuts to her making love to someone and her on a beach amplifying that she was once good however has something in her past which has changed her. This is displayed by the picture of a young ballet dancer. It then shows her torturing the same person that she was having sex with. This shows it to be a horror and moreover it shows that she has a had a psychological effect on her. She is hspwn to be very mysterious. However the thriller ends with her doing ballet as child with light shining on her which shows her to be good in the end.
